Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick shares the experience of her first 30 days walking the halls of Congress and her commitment to serving Florida's 20th Congressional District.
"Since being sworn in on Jan.18, I have hit the ground running. I have been appointed to two very important committees for my district and the state of Florida - the Committee on Education and Labor and the Committee on Veterans Affairs. While serving on the Education and Labor Committee, I will work hard to ensure that all Floridian students are afforded a quality education and will support legislation that will help close the achievement gap and improve educational outcomes for Floridians. While serving on the Veterans Affairs Committee, I will keep in mind that Floridians serve in our military at a high rate per capita and will commit to ensuring that Florida veterans have full and equal access to the health, housing, education and employment benefits they have rightfully earned."
